Google adds voice to its Chrome browser

Giant search monster Google has rejigged its Voice extension for its Chrome browser.

That means that if it’s your wish and will, you can call people directly from your web browser – provided you’re using Google Chrome, of course.

GoogleThe update adds a button to the toolbar and you can now send free text messages by typing a number or contact name.

The extension also lets you call phone numbers on web sites by just clicking on them.

There are apparently some problems using the Voice extension with Apple Macs, but Google says it’s worth a try.
