CA buys into the cloud

Today has seen a spate of acquisitions and now CA Technologies has joined in too.

CA said it is buying a privately held company called 4Base Technology, which it describes as a virtualisation and cloud consulting firm.

Because it’s a privately held company, CA did not say how much it has paid for it.

CA will integrate 4Base as its virtualisation and cloud strategy group.

The company rightly points out that virtualisation and cloud computing are in a “fluid and evolving state” and CA will offer its customers products and services to help customers understand the concepts better.

Paul Camacho, co-founder of 4Base said that enterprises lack proven best practices but are very interested in the cloud and virtualisation.

4Base clients include CA and other firms including VMWare, NetApp, EMC and Cisco.
