Bing could displace Google as iPhone search engine

A report suggested that Apple and Microsoft are in discussions about displacing Google as the default search engine on the iPhone.

That’s according to Business Week. It claims the talks have been going on for some time.

The obvious reason for Apple and Microsoft to talk is their joint dislike of Mr Google.

Google’s push to populate the world with mobile phones that use the Android operating system doesn’t fit in very happily with Apple’s egregious plans for iPhone domination.

It’s not as if Microsoft and Apple haven’t worked together in the past either – although legions of fanbois generally side with the operating system that turns it on, be it Windows or Mac OSX.

Business Week, here, reckons that Microsoft is a pawn in the battle between Apple and Google.

That would probably be something to do with the fact that Bing is lagging behind Google in the search engine stakes.
