US people can’t even turn their computers off even when they are bonking, according to a new survey from an outfit who thinks people should know this.
The survey from insecurity firm PC Tools showed that nearly a quarter of US residents think it is a good idea to be “plugged in” to the internet when they have a shag. After all, sex with an American can always be postponed while you check important things like your tweets, and Facebook pokes.
Nearly a third thought it was not a problem to be connected online during a wedding and 41 per cent thought it ok for family dinners.
But while the computer-obsessed yanks can’t turn their computers off for things that are really important, most of them would rather change a nappy, be stuck in traffic, visit a dentist or get a colonoscopy than clean machines for viruses.
PC Tools’ vice president of marketing Stephanie Edwards said the importance of staying connected, even when you are… connected does not make sense if people don’t have the time or inclination to worry about computer maintenance or safety.
But he would say that, he makes security software. It does sort of indicate that US people do not care what they catch while they leave the computer on.
