Mitt Romney's email, Dropbox reportedly hacked

Authorities are looking into an anonymous claim that email accounts used by Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney have been hacked.

Romney’s campaign confirmed that an investigation is underway after the hack claim appeared on Gawker. The Gawker crew apparently received an email from a tipster, claiming that Romney’s Hotmail and Dropbox accounts were compromised.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Romney started using a private email account while he was governor of Massachusetts. Romney left office in 2007, but apparently continued to use the account.

The WSJ even posted a few emails attributed to Romney and his associates, dealing with Romney’s efforts to pass the Massachusetts healthcare bill in 2006, something that his campaign does not really like to bring up nowadays.

You can check out the emails here, provided you don’t have a preexisting condition.
