Dell intros new firewalls

Dell logoThe network division of Dell said today it has introduced new firewalls specifically inspecting SSL traffic and to eliminate encrypted threats.

The SonicWALL TZ series, Dell claims, support faster internet speeds, can analyse encrypted SSL traffic and feature an integrated wireless controller.

Dell claimed that the new products offer enterprise security at a price point attractive to small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and multi-site distributed organisations.

The firewalls use multicore security processors in a desktop size and offer intrusion prevention speeds of up to 1.1Gbps.

The series include anti-malware protection, intrusion prevention, content and URL filtering, application control, and protection for laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Dell said that the deep packet inspection module means the firewalls can scan each byte of each packet on all ports and protocols with “almost” zero latency.

The firewalls are available worldwide, now.
