Mobile advertising is on the rise, according to a new report.
Research results happen to have been released by Smaato, a mobile advertising company show that its business is booming.
Apparently the US market will spend $5 billion on advertising on mobile devices by 2015.
The US is the second largest market globally in terms of mobile advertising spending behind Japan.
Smaato thinks that until the end of this year the US mobile advertising market size is expected to be worth $797 million and will move closer to Japan, worth more than a billion in 2010. with a forecast of $1.24 billion for 2011 and $5.04 billion for 2015.
The boom is thanks to the rise of more mobile hardware such as tablets, netbooks and smartphones.
Smaato thinks that the mobile ad market will explode over the next few years.
The research predicts thatthe UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain will join the ‘club of countries that spend a billion on advertising in 2015.
The average mobile advertising campaign spend in the US is between $75,000 – 100,000.
Generally, mobile advertising is fast becoming the most annoying form of invasive advertising possible, There is nothing worse than crawling out of the bath to see an SMS message is just spam. It is almost as annoying as those stalking calls from Eva Mendes at 2am.
