Social chatterbox Twitter said that it had bought a company called Cloudhopper.
Cloudhopper, said a Twittster in a bog post, is a startup specialising in SMS transmission.
Twitter, apparently, churns a billion SMS tweets a month with the number of the tweets steadily growing.
Cloudhopper and Twitter have been working together for eight months or so. So Twitter has bought Cloudhpper, a firm that lets Twitter to connect directly to carrier networks all over the world.
Cloudhopper seems to be two people – Joe and Kristen, and they are now part of the Twitteraristocracy, according to the bog, here.
