Google ticks off Goojje for copying its style

The Shenzhen Economic Daily reports that search giant Google has sent off a cease and desist order to the Chinese Goojje website saying it faced legal action if it doesn’t stop copying it.

The logo does look quite a bit like Google except it has some happy kitten style logos and a pawprint to lessen the effect.

Google is already up in arms in China but chose as its target censorship rather than people knocking off its logos. The Huffington Post reported late last month that Goojje was launched after Google threatened to pull out of China.

The interesting thing is that the last character in Goojje’s Chinese name means “big sister”, while the last character in Google’s Chinese name means “big brother”.

According to the Shenzhen Economic Daily, Google is accusing Goojje of infringing on its trademark.
