Firefox installed on a third of machines worldwide

More than a third of the worldwide web browser market appears to be using Mozilla’s Firefox.

True, this figure comes from the Mozilla Foundation itself and is based on numbers from a variety of firms, StatCounter, Quantcast, Net Applications and Gemius and mixing in its own data. The data is then baked for 30 minutes in a moderate oven, cooled and then iced.

Apparently Firebadger is rampant in Europe where it has 40 percent penetration (152.7 million users). Of course that is not the place where Firefox has the biggest market penetration. That would be Antarctica where Mozilla has 80 per cent of the market. We guess King Penguins are big on Open Sauce.

Russia has the biggest growth in Firefox downloads which grew by 20 percent.

In Indonesia, Firefox accounts for more than 60 percent of the market share.

The place where it makes the least impact is the former British colony of Virginia where it is only on a quarter of machines.

The figures also show that the West Coast of the US use Firefox more than the East Coast.
