Sapphire Technology has added a new model to its HD 7000 series.
The Sapphire HD 7770 Vapor-X OC Edition is said to be the first card card based on the new graphics GCN architecture from AMD and has been blessed with Sapphire’s Vapor-X cooling technology.
This means that the card can run at higher speeds but with very low noise levels.
Based on the latest GPU technology from AMD, the SAPPHIRE HD 7770 Vapor-X OC Edition has 1GB of the latest DDR5 memory, and is factory overclocked with core clocks of 1100MHz and memory clocks of 1300MHz. It also supports the trend of gaming with multiple monitors through its use of AMD Eyefinity.
Additionally the card has two DVI ports, HDMI and a single DisplayPort output, which is said to support up to four monitors.
Fast HDMI 1.4a supports Stereoscopic 3D with enhanced frame rates of 60Hz per eye – 120Hz total, while it is also claimed to be prepared for the next generation of 4K displays that can be driven from a single high speed input of 3GHz HDMI 1.4a or DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2.
According to Sapphire its new card can also cope with APP Acceleration- which it says is a new name given to applications that use stream processing capabilities and specific hardware features of the graphics architecture. This includes video encoding and decoding, gaming and video conferencing as well as enhancing tasks such as Internet browsing,
The Sapphire HD 7700 series also comes ready for DirectX 11.1 and Windows 8.
