Not much is known about the tablet PC, but we do know that it features a 7-inch high-resolution TFT screen and that there are rumours of an 8-inch and 10-inch model which may follow. This gives users a bit more choice than the 9.7-inch iPad.
We know it runs Android and is the first of many Android tablets Samsung is planning. It’s not clear what version it will be, but if it’s been in production for a while it will most likely be 2.1.
It also has a 3.5mm jack at the top, which is obviously for headphones, and a charger slot at the bottom, but that’s pretty standard stuff for devices like this.
A picture was leaked by the South African Samsung Twitter page which gave the information, revealing a very similar design to that of the iPad. In place of Apple’s little square button there’s an arrow pointing up, with what looks like a menu button and back button on either side. It appears to be a bit thinner than the Apple model, but if it were not for the large Samsung logo at the top a casual observor could easily mistake it for its infamous rival.
Samsung is keeping tight-lipped about the juicy details like processor speed, but we’d expect at least a 1GHz processor if it’s to have a chance to compete.
