Nook and cranny foxes Microsoft, Hon Hai

Last week it was revealed that Barnes & Noble wants Microsoft investigated for potential antitrust activities by forcing manufacturers of gizmos to sign licensing agreements.

Barnes & Noble claims that only the biggest companies can afford to sign expensive licensing deals with Microsoft and it and its Nook should be let off the legal hook.

But now there’s a further twist to the already twisted tale. According to report on Taiwanese wire Digitimes, Foxconn has denied that it has promised Microsoft that it won’t make Nooks for B&N if the Vole withdraws a suit against it.  Microsoft is continuing to sue both B&N and another partner, Inventec.

Microsoft has pursued a number of hardware manufacturers alleging that those which use the Android OS break Microsoft patents.

Foxconn claims that it isn’t making Nooks for Barnes & Noble and so it is all a terrible misunderstanding, according to Digitimes.
