iMac 27-inch screen makes people scream

Ars Technica has a wealth of detail on problems Apple is having with its 27-inch iMac screen.

People are reporting a number of problems including one which ends up with the screen looking yellow.

Ars says that Apple personnel have been given a line on what to say when people complain about this discrepancy. As the units cost over £1,000, people do complain about the defect.

The first line of Apple defence is that customers are told that “slight variations” are normal, says Ars.  If a customer won’t be fobbed off with that little white, or yellow lie, they’re told that the unit will be replaced within three weeks,

If the customer really gets screamy, they’re offered a refund and not a replacement. The Ars story.
