Google Android TVs on the horizon

Google is planning to bring the Android OS platform to your TV screen.

The search giant is hoping to expand its operations by offering social media via the internet through an Android-based TV. It is also planning to get application developers into the mix as early as possible to ensure a full range of applications are available for the medium to match the ones available on Android smartphones.

Rumours have surfaced that Google will bring out this software on Sony and Logitech devices using Intel processing chips, including the recently announced Atom.

The new expansion into the TV market should be announced at Google’s I/O 2010 conference in San Francisco on May 19th and 20th.

The little green robot could be invading your TV screens very soon.
