Gigabyte releases AM3+ entry level motherboards

Gigabyte has announced three new entry level motherboards, all of which will be compatible with the forthcoming AMD FX processors.

The firm announced new revision 3.1 GA-M52LT-D3P, GA-M68MT-D3P and GA-M68MT-S2P motherboards which will work alongside top of the range CPUs, with its AM3+ socket supporting the AMD FX series.

The AM3+ ‘Black Socket’ will also allow for backwards compatibility with other AMD chips, such as the Phenom II and Athlon II, featuring more efficient power loading as well as improved heatsink mounting.

The motherboards will also include standar Gigabyte features such as Ultra Durable 2 Classic designed to last for at least 50,000 hours in operational use, and offering lower power consumption.

4+1 phase VRM support will allow for more stable power delivery, while On/Off Charge will mean that you can charge your iPhone while your computer heads off to the land of nod, as well as drawing more energy than from a standard USB port.
