EVGA unveils monster motherboard

EVGA has been hard at work on a new motherboard, the X58 FTW3, which has been quietly released for pre-order online.

The X58 FTW3, codenamed 132-GT-E768-KR, is a powerful, boastworthy pieace of kit, so it makes us wonder why it wasn’t released with a bit more fanfare.

The motherboard is based on the Intel X58/ICH10R chipset, can support Intel Core i7 1366 processors, has six DIMM triple-channel slots for  DDR3 RAM up to a total of 24GB, and supports two-way and three-way SLI as well as CrossFireX.

It also boasts an impressive array of ports, with two SATA III 6GB/s ports, six SATA II 3GB/s ports, two Gigabit ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and eight USB 2.0 ports.

The board supports 7.1 channel audio, completing the potential for a monster machine.

A release and shipping date have yet to be announced, but it’s currently available for pre-order on NCIX.com for $319.99, with an estimated arrival date of between five and ten days.

The X58 FTW3 is aimed at the enthusiast market, and from its support of top tier processors, memory  and its impressive array of high-speed ports – not many motherboards out there can boast as much as this effort – it could blow some competitors out of the water.
