Antec is celebrating its 25th anniversary by releasing a new PC gaming case, the Antec One Hundred, reports HardwareBistro. It comes with four top-mounted USB 2.0 ports, a storage tray, eight expansion slots and ten drive bays. For cooling there’s a 140mm TwoCool fan on the top and a 120mm TwoCool fan on the back and a washable air filter. It supports ATX, Mini-ITX and microATX motherboards and comes with a three-year warranty. Not bad for $80.
Tom’s Hardware did a comparison test of four premium two-channel PC speakers, the Altec Lansing Expressionist Bass FX3022, Bowers & Wilkins MM-1, Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II and the M-Audio Studiophile AV 40. The AV 40s won out in terms of sound, but they’re slightly above the average price.
HardwareHeaven reviewed the ASRock Extreme4 P67 and Fatal1ty Professional P67 motherboards, comparing them with a similarly priced X58 with Core i7-950 combination. Both boards rated highly, with the Extreme4 winning out as the best of the bunch, earning 10 out of 10, a Gold Award, Performance Award and Value Award.
The Deepcool Gamer Storm and Ice Warrior CPU coolers were tested by PureOC. They were praised for their quietness and low temperatures when paired with a second fan, but the fact that they weren’t as high-performing straight out of the box means that there are better options out there for less money, although they likely won’t look as sleek or be as quiet.
