ARM exec talks Apple tablet

TechEye recently caught up with ARM’s director of mobile computing, Bob Morris, and discovered him to be something of an Apple Fanboy.

Expressing huge excitement over the rumoured  upcoming Apple Tablet, Morris told us: “I know zero about it but I’ve been an Apple fanatic since ’83.”

He added: “it’s going to be cool…if it’s for real, I mean, we don’t know. We don’t know until Jobs does something, right?”

When we asked Mr. Morris whether ARM might be involved in the Apple tablet in any way, shape or form -The iPhone uses a Samsung processor incorporating an ARM Cortex-A8 processor core – Morris ummed and ahhed a bit, but noted, “all I can say is that there is one account we don’t ever talk about, and we don’t know what they’re doing on these types of products.”

“I think you’ll get that response from everyone in the industry if you ask about that,” he went on, quickly adding “I have no idea what’s coming out, but I hope, because I’m a consumer, that they’ll have something pretty cool because then it will fit in with the other things I have in my house.”

Stay tuned for more from Mr. Morris and ARM’s forage into the world of mobile computing coming soon to TechEye.
