AMD Llano delayed, report claims

A report in Taiwanese wire Digitimes claims that AMD’s Llano Fusion processor will be delayed until August or September.

This Fusion chip is being made by AMD spinoff GlobalFoundries and at the time of writing we have not heard of any delays.

Digitimes claimed that mass production will be delayed until Autumn next year because there’s a low yield on its 32 nanometre process. We are seeking confirmation or denial on the report. The wire quotes “motherboard” companies as the source for the rumour.

AMD is dividing its production of the Fusion chips between TSMC and GlobalFoundries – processors codenamed Ontario and Zacate are being made by the former while different SKUs of Lllano are being made by GloFo.
