The turtle-necked one will be satirised in the show that will be shown on US cable channel Epix. The pilot will be directed by Seinfeld veteran and Borat director, Larry Charles.
“We are attempting to do nothing less than a modern Citizen Kane,” Charles said in a statement. “A scabrous satire of Silicon Valley and its most famous citizen.”
The show is “a savage satire centering on a fictional Silicon Valley CEO whose ego is a study in power and greed,” Epix says on the New York Times website.
The show will be written by the author of fake Steve Jobs blog, The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs, Dan Lyons, who is also a technology consultant for Newsweek.
There is already a book called iCon, Steve Jobs: The Greatest Second Act in the History of Business, written by Jeffrey S. Young.
Jobs is rumoured to have been so iRate with the less than flattering aspects of the biography, that he ordered all of the books published by John Wiley & Sons be removed from Apple Stores.
The half-hour, single camera series iCon will be produced by Media Rights Capital, although there is no word yet on when the programme will be broadcast. Or whether it will be available on iTunes.
