Lambda sues Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, others over optical patent

A case started in a Delaware district court accusing Alcatel-Lucent, Adva AG, Ciena, Cisco, ECI Telecom, NEC, Tellabs, Fujitsu, and NokiaSiemens of breaching an optical patent.

Lambda Optical Solutions, a Delaware limited liability company, alleges these defendants breached US patent 6,973,229 – called Node architecture for modularised and reconfigurable optical networks and methods and apparatus.

It alleges the various defendants have incorporated elements of the patent in products they sell. all of which are Optical Network Switches.

Lambda wants a jury trial and if a jury finds the defendants guilty of breaching the patent, wants triple damages from them all.
