The new year seems to have good things in store for electronics manufacturers. Hon Hai says its revenue hit approximately $4.2 billion in January – the best result in the last 10 years.
In percentage terms Hon Hai saw the turnover leapfrog 47.56 percent year-over-year. January sales traditonally fell seven percent to 20 percent compared to December.
Needless to say, the high growth rate in January will be seen as indicating a general turnaround for the industry. A rebound in demand for consumer electronics, mobile devices and PCs.
Hon Hai recently was awarded an order to build five million LCD TVs for Samsung. The company is prophesied to become the world’s largest LCD TV assembler this year. Orders are expected to increase tenfold, to a total of 10 million to 12 million units.
