Demand exceeds supply at Computex 2011

Taiwan trade organisation TAITRA said that 120,000 people visited last week’s Computex show but the event was oversubscribed by vendors.

TAITRA estimates the event generates $25 billion in business.

TAITRA supplied 5,300 booths but it had demand for 6,000 – a demand it couldn’t supply. Computex 2011 is spread across several sites including the TWTC building, Halls 2 and 3, space at the TICC and the new Nangang exhibition centre.  TAITRA, according to sources, wants to build an additional exhibition centre in Nangang, across the way from the existing hall.

The trade orgisation said that 120,000 people visited last week’s show, with 36,102 buyers from over 160 countries attending. The show finished on Saturday.
