Apple refuses to go green

While Apple has been making great strides towards making its products greener, it has refused to provide reports on how it looks after the environment.

A couple of shareholders had placed a motion calling for Jobs’ Mob to do more to analyse its impact on the environment.

One proposal would have asked Apple to produce a detailed environmental sustainability report. The other called for a board committee focused on sustainability.

However the Apple board had opposed the measures claiming that they were un-necessary and expensive.

At its annual shareholder meeting yesterday, investors had rejected the the ideas.

We guess that when it comes down to it, shareholders are still investing in Apple for the cash, rather than any hippy agendas that the company image appears to support.

Still Apple can be happy that Greenpeace is finally pleased with its moves to make PCs that are less toxic to the environment.
