Apple Antenna man leaves Planet Cupertino

The man held by some to be responsible over the debacle that had Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, spinning in a PR vortex over iPhone antennae has left the company.

According to the New York Times, a man called Mark Papermaster, who was SVP (senior VP) for iPhone engineering, but who, his name suggests, would be better off looking after the iPad – the death of newspapers, is leaving for pastures new.

A senior VP of computer engineering called Bob Mansfield, who has a far less interesting name, will take over Papermaster’s duties while Apple consults the oracle.

Papermaster formerly worked at IBM’s Power PC division and Big Blue objected when he joined Apple.

Apple was formerly connected to Power PC when IBM, Motorola and Apple all conspired against Intel and the like.
